the envelope question (giveaway!)

Hello! I've been super busy working away the past few weeks - we've got lots of new stockists on the way, more about this soon!

We've been busy google searching, calling places and trying to find some new envelopes for the greeting cards. We've narrowed it down to two - both post consumer recycled, there's a kraft brown and a white.

Chris and I sort of both prefer the brown - it's unbleached (yay!), and it looks recycled, so you don't have to read the fine print on the back of each card to realise it's more eco-friendly. I also think that the white envelopes are more in line with the look of the cards!

But, I decided I'd like to know, what do you think?

The giveaway.
Leave a comment, letting us know if you would prefer your Pocket Carnival greeting cards to come with a white or brown envelope - see the options in the above pic. (If you don't have a blog, leave your email address in the comment too!)
We'll pick 4 winners at the weekend who'll each receive 4 cards of their choice.

Thanks in advance!
xo Penny & Chris

i love the kraft ones!
Cards in regular shops all have the white envelopes generally, so brown ones feel a bit more "spesh"

:)

I've always preferred the kraft envelopes but for some reason I think the white ones suit your card designs! And it looks mod and fresh too!

Kraft Brown.
For sure!

Good contrast with your illustrations that are so pretty and fresh.

Love the kraft with your card, but can you write on it or does it require an icky mailing label to post? The white looks great also. With that card, how could you go wrong?!

oh its so hard to decide.
i love the brown ones, but your beautiful drawings have a splash of white throughout most of them - so maybe the white would be better?

little bit from column a, little bit from column b!

... and yet ANOTHER vote for the kraft brown envelopes :-) I think they'd be great with your beautiful cards.

I prefer the kraft one...because every other envelope that comes into the mailbox is white, so it's always exciting to see a different coloured one - I know, silly reason :)

I like the brown one. It will stand out in the post - imagine coming home from work flipping thru all the boring mail in their boring white envelopes and then WHAMMO a cool brown envelope, "how exciting", you would think, "I wonder what it is"!!!

I'd have to say my preference would definitely be the brown. Something different to your normal everyday mail and I think more in keeping with a handmade business (somehow?)!

The brown is lovely but having bought some black envelopes late last year, I ended up with a conundrum. You can't scribble the address on the envelope with a normal pen because the envelope was too dark.
So, just because of that, I would go with white. Makes it easier for the postie to read the address.

I like the brown - my only concern would be isit hard to write the address on the front?

If it's hard to write/read with a normal pen then I'd go the white ones instead.

the recycled brown for sure..They are something a bit different and for me, my second favourite part of the packages you send (obviously number one is the cute card itself!)

I like the brown. It's different and stands out but still goes with the cards. Brown is the new white! ;-)

Oh cute, i'm a brown packages kind of gal. How sweet, seeing i have to send my valentine a card as he's living interstate, you know, as you do after 17 years with 4 children, oh well, such is Army life. My son got a Valentine in the mail from America today, he was so cute, his preschool girlfriend from almost 5 years ago. Love Posie

For me kraft brown are the best..
They just look so natural...

Brown envelope will be in contrast with white card and coloured heart or other pattern...
and when receiving it by post - the dirt won't be visible like on the white one ;)

The kraft looks lovely but might make it really difficult to mail. There is nothing worse than having a beautiful dark envelope that you then have to stick an ugly label on to actually send...

So my vote is white!
