giveaway and a question

Hooray! Let's have a giveaway! But first I need your help.

So, I got a gorgeous parcel in the mail today from Carley (aka Vanilla Pixie). It's a sweet little Christmas gift for an adorable little baby I know, so I'm very excited. I was particularly taken by the gift tag Carley sent with the parcel, the multi-colored trees are gorgeous! I love the randomness of the way it's cut (it's the one with scalloped edges, so sweet!)

I decided to design something a little similar, with my birds. I've been very happy with my Christmas tags, and want to have something festive for all occasions. They're not available for sale yet, but will be in a week or so (I'm just figuring out packaging and pricing).

The giveaway!

To enter, please leave a comment answering my question for you all - when you purchase gift tags, do you prefer:
1 - no hole,
2 - hole punched, no string, or
3 - hole punched with a string?

Please remember -
1 entry per person, and don't leave your comment anonymously!
Open until the 24th.
Two lucky winners will receive a lovely bundle of cards & gift tags.

Oops, the giveaway is now closed!!!

Gorgeous! I also pick hole punched with a string because a) it's easier for me and b) I can't be guaranteed I have suitable string to match the tags I buy.

so cute! punched with string definitely. xx

I think just a hole, or with a really long string. I recently got some with short little strings that I didn't end up using.

Hole and string, they are just gorgeous!

hole with no string, so I can tie ribbon etc around the present and attach the gift tag to that :-)

Oooh, that's me! :) Definitely hole with a string

Ditto! Hole with string...lots and lots of string. "String, string, string, string everybody loves string". Sorry, I was having a Goodies moment.

sweet..yep hole punched with string for me too.

I have to go with the majority... hole punched with string. I might not have string or ribbon or a hole punch or the inclination to use them if they look 'perfect'. I do love them :)

definitely hole punched with a sting here too!

i'm happy with pretty gift tags in any form, though if i had to choose, i'd prefer them hole punched with a string.

Love the birds! They are adorable!

I would say a hole with a string BUT a variety would be nice too. So if you do a package of 10, 5 with string, 3 with no string and 2 without a hole, know what I mean?

Thanks!
Jae

Definitely hole punched with a tag. It saves me time and that's really why I would purchase them.

How very sweet are those tags.

I am very much a hole with a string girl.

Cath @ chunkychooky said...

they are great PennyI think hole punched and long string so you can cut to length you want- nothign worse than string to short. x

yardage girl said...

yay for giveaways! Definately hole puched with a string (you can always take the string off if needed!). Merry Christmas! Nic xx

I'd go for hole-punched with string, to have the option of removing the string.

I love that you've used non-specific paper...perfect to keep on-hand for last minute gifts!

Thanks for the opportunity-- those are darling!

The little birdies are so cute. I think a hole punch with string is a better more versatile option for me.

Ange Moore said...

Definitely hole punch and with the string (becuase when I'm wrapping a present I can never find my hole punch or matching string)!

They are beautiful BTW.

Hello Penny! I am another crusader for the hole punched with a string! :)

Love the birds, they are super cute!

Jodi Wiley said...

Well, if there is no hole, there needs to be space to write on the front (because you stick it flat to the present), but if the space to write is on the back, then a hole with a long length of string. :-)

Hole punched with a string is what I'd choose.

Lovely work by the way!

Cate Lawrence said...

hole punch and string I think :)

Thea said...

Adorable! I agree that it would be best to have it ready to go and would definitely go for the hole and string. It would be easy to replace with a ribbon if somebody preferred to do that. Have a Happy Christmas!

Isis said...

hole punched, with string. these are so cute :)

Lauren said...

oh they are cute...they'd make cute badges too! I think sting and hole! number 3! Happy Christmas!

I LOVE tags and yours are no exception! I like them punched with an eyelet (fussy, yes!), then I put my own ribbon, string etc in them :)

Carapace said...

I like a hole punched, but no string- that way, I can use a string of any length, or a matching ribbon, or whatever.:) Good question!

i like a hole punched with no string... because i normally thread my own... although popular seems with string.. which is fine with me too! but i woukd just cut it off... love the birds penny:)

michelle said...

oh dear, i'm a freak! i like hole punched, with NO string, as i thread them on the cord wrapping the pressie, but with string is fine.

you know, i quite like a little rivet in the hole too! just to shake things up a bit there!

very cute tags, used some of the freebies you sent me recently, and they were great as little 'thank you' notes...

Yep, definitely hole punched with string. I like to tie things on to prezzies. Merry Xmas!

Penny, I am trying again coz I mucked up the 1st. Gotta sign in right! ;)

Cloud said...

Hole punched & with a string please :)

If I don't need the string I can always take it out but it sucks when I need the string and don't have any that matches because it didn't come with the card.
